Blueprint For Bastrop Wants You...

What’s this all about?
The City of Bastrop has been awarded a prestigious community development grant by the American Institute of Architects. A team of nationally recognized AIA professionals will help Bastrop citizens develop an informal blueprint for Bastrop’s future for one of its key neighborhoods. Bastrop is one of eight communities receiving a grant this year. (The other communities are Apple Valley, MN; Pikes Peak, CO; Santa Rosa, CA; Shelburne, VT, and Southwest DeKalb County, GA. New Orleans is also receiving technical assistance through this program.)
Significance of S.D.A.T. grant.
Honor
Only two other Texas communities have previously been awarded this honor, Leon Valley, Texas and Fort Worth, Texas. This grant program has also been awarded to other major communities such as Los Angeles, CA; Virginia Beach, VA; New Orleans, LA.
Vision
To enhance our city by preserving the history and spirit of historic Bastrop, while creating a blueprint for future development that will benefit citizen, by creating community conversation through citizens involvement.
Purpose
To bring together the community as a whole alongside national experts to create a long-term Blueprint for Bastrop that is a collective representation of the community’s interests, aspirations, and identity.

This event provides the opportunity to empower citizens to help keep and shape the long-term blueprint of the neighborhood and surrounding community
